Dave Frishberg wrote the popular jazz song "Peel me a Grape" in 1962. When I was a child I watched my mother practice this song, among many others, because she was the vocalist in a jazz band. It was a curious way for a little girl to glean the possible uses of her feminine charms. This performance is intended to reference both pornographic and slasher-film aesthetics.
Performed at Robert Lynds Gallery in Vancouver, B.C. on December 15, 2015 for the exhibition "Small Works"; at the Illingworth Kerr Gallery in Calgary, AB on April 8, 2016 for the performance festival "IKG Live 1".
